Students - Notifications, emails and account settings

Control what RooKi emails you and what appears in your notification bell, and manage or delete your account from Settings.

The notification bell

The bell in the app opens "Notifications" and offers "Mark all read". When nothing is waiting it shows "You're all caught up."

Notification preferences

Settings lists four activity types: "Application updates", "Employer interest & shortlists", "Job listing updates" and "Job closed". Each has an Email toggle and an In-app toggle, and all are on by default. The page explains: "Choose how you want to be notified for each type of activity. In-app notifications always appear in your activity history — turning them off only hides them from the bell and notifications list." Students do not have a digest option.

Emails you may receive include application updates, interview invitations, employer interest and shortlist notices, job updated and closed notices, and rejection emails. Marketing and retention emails carry a one-click unsubscribe; transactional notifications do not — those are controlled by the toggles above.

Deleting your account

Settings has a danger zone for deleting your account. It warns: "This is permanent and cannot be undone." Deleting removes your profile, assessment results, resume versions, photo and video, recommendations, applications and saved jobs. To confirm, you type DELETE. If you are under 18, confirm with a parent, guardian or careers advisor first.

Privacy and records

Privacy questions, access or correction requests, and complaints go to hello@rooki.au, and unresolved privacy complaints can go to the OAIC. Financial records are kept for 7 years after a transaction, and cloud providers may store data offshore.

Still stuck?
